Fair is Foul Foul is Fair Analysis in Macbeth

Nothing in Macbeth is what it appears to be, as it turns out in William Shakespeare’s work. Good things become bad and evil often disguises itself in the guise of kindness. Right from the beginning, this theme of confusion and contradiction is established as the tone type for the entire play. The struggle with which the characters try to comprehend the realities from the fabricated ones is quite a crucial element. This raises the doubt in the minds of the audience regarding the sincerity of every action and utterance. The witches’ cryptic chant is the ideal introduction into this strange world in which nothing can be trusted.

The Hidden Meaning Behind the phrase

This quote “Fair is Foul Foul is Fair Analysis in Macbeth” is of great meaning. It illustrates that in Macbeth’s realm, anything good and evil gets mixed up. For instance, Macbeth appears to be a brave hero at first glance, but actually he is even prepared to backstab his king in order to gain power. On the same note, Lady Macbeth seems nice and faithful, but she is the one who manipulates Macbeth to commit murder. The idea is echoed repeatedly throughout the play. The reaction to this confusion is even from the nature: when the king is killed, the darkness spreads over the skies and wild things occur in the nature.

In use of the words “Fair is Foul Foul is Fair Analysis in Macbeth, we are also informed that for the characters, merely hiding behind their faces is not enough for them: sometimes evil has to be used to achieve their plans. This belief is the cause of Macbeth’s downfall. He takes the wrong route, believing it will make him great and instead gains guilt and destruction. Everything ends in the hands of the truth; but at a great cost of suffering and loss. This theme convinces us to dig deeper than what we see and to ask what appears as “fair” on the surface. Not everything is what it appears to be.
